When Ptolemy Prescott is kidnapped by a dark organization, he can only think of one person who might notice his absence: Romilly Quester, a girl he never officially called his girlfriend. Romilly always thought of herself as just Ptolemy's friend with benefits-until she stumbles upon a chilling letter from his captors, addressed specifically to her. The ransom is impossible: $50,000, money Romilly doesn't have. With no one to turn to and time running out, Romilly hatches a desperate plan.

To distract the organization and buy herself time, Romilly launches an unconventional political campaign: "Protesting Ptolemy," aimed at fighting the teaching of Geocentrism in recluse Christian Academies. The title is a twisted nod to Claudius Ptolemy, the ancient astronomer credited with the theory of Geocentrism, but Romilly's real focus is saving her Ptolemy before it's too late.

However, the deeper she dives into her plan, the more dangerous her world becomes. When someone she trusts double-crosses her, Romilly finds herself ensnared in a deadly game where no one is who they seem. With every moment slipping away, Romilly must outwit the organization-and her own allies-if she hopes to rescue Ptolemy alive.
