There was once an idea. That idea turned into more ideas, on and on, until one day a little story called The Ochlocrats appeared. In it, six supernaturally gifted strangers were brought together after months of bizarre misadventures across the United States. Guided by some unknown preordained force, this band of misfits eventually settled down, waiting for something beyond their understanding to show them the way forward. Then one day, as if bludgeoned by a random falling brick, they are struck by the knowledge their own fictional existence. Over the next year they must face absurd horrors, a confused audience, and countless other struggles as they seek to find purpose in their imaginary world.
Focusing on the past, present, and future of each of its major character, The Ochlocrats can best be described as a modern existentialist psychodrama filled with action, humor, and the occasional rant. Using elements of absurdism, metafiction, literary allusion, and pop culture, it is a tale of that seeks to explore the relationship between authors, readers, and the worlds they create together.
You'll laugh! You'll cry! Or not, I don't know. I'm just a writer after all.
