I looked at Fang, my eyes watery. "Fang. . . You're actually thinking about-"
"Yes, Max." Fang said flatly, the look in his eyes confident. I didn't say anything. I couldn't say anything. Instead, I stared into his eyes, hoping to change his mind.
But I didn't.
Fang turned around, walking out of the house, shutting the door behind him. He was gone.
He looked up to the sky, murmuring. "I will be heard."
================================
It was a normal morning, that was until Max encountered what she thought was a big joke.
Fang, the co-leader of the Flock, was leaving. Max, who knew Fang's loyalty, wouldn't believe him when he said he was going, but little did she know he meant what he said.
"You do know how to eat a burger, right?"
Summer rolled her eyes, looking up at him with feigned exasperation. "Of course I do," she retorted, then lowered her voice as she leaned in, her expression shifting to one of genuine concern. "Do you think they have a fork and knife? So I can, you know... cut it?"
