Stella-Maris is a sixteen year old girl who's faced some rough times in her life. Her two older siblings are rebel troublemakers and are always on the run. Her mother works hard day and night just to provide for them. She's an outcast at school who barely has any friends and rarely gets along with anyone else there. Her life isn't the best, and if it wasn't for her mom being there she probably wouldn't have survived this long.
But then that all changes when her mother is killed in some freak explosion.
After Stella loses her cool, the Young Justice team picks her up as a new member in the making. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor stalks the Young girl and the Young Justice team in the shadows. They all come face to face with the true reason behind this explosion, all while trying to enjoy their lives as young teenagers.
With danger, two siblings, a superhero team, and romance chasing her tail - she has no time for a quick cool down.

As Jay enters high school, he becomes very intrigued with one of his classmates. Kind of obsessed, actually. Her name: Mikayla Keeler. Mikayla is very unique, and like Jay, she doesn't seem to fit in with her contemporaries. Instead, the two of them keep each other company, and their friendship very quickly escalates into a romantic and intimate relationship. Despite having Mikayla, Jay's troubles continue to burden him. He and Mikayla are fighting habitually, his home life is still unbearable, and his time at school is hardly any better, made worse by a bully named Calvin. Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal. One confrontation in particular goes much too far, resulting in Jay's expulsion from school.
