They were two completely different people. So what brought them together? The year is 1963 and the battle to end segregation continues. Lottie Mae Brown is fighting along with friends and family. Inspired by the events of Little Rock Nine, she and 4 others enter an all white school in attempts to improve education. But only ten minutes in and disaster strikes as Lottie gets into a bit of trouble with a group of girls who are against the movement. The principals nephew Carter Kings is instructed to escort the lady to detention for her horrible actions but instead they sneak out of school and out to the river banks. The two quickly becomes friends but she can't help but notice how untruthful he is being...
