Vera Hart is a girl who knows what she doesn't want. She doesn't want to be stuck living in Shit-For-Brains, NE. She doesn't want to be (wrongly) pegged as a sociopath by the police chief. She definitely doesn't want to be assigned the worst summer job in the history of summer jobs without pay. But with her sarcastic wit, bad attitude, and help from a stuttering cop and a boy who can't drive construction equipment she might just find out what she does want.
