James Buchanan Barnes tells his wife Dolly Myers-Barnes that he's being drafted into the war. There's only one problem: she's pregnant. He and his pal Steve Rogers go on a mission and Dolly's left with a framed flag. He's gone.

Widowed and pregnant, Dolly descends into depression, but with Steve and Bucky dead, Peggy Carter takes her under her wing. Dolly becomes one of the first SHIELD agents and then gives birth to Jane Myers-Barnes.

At the age of 25 in 1969, Jane has become a highly-skilled SHIELD agent and on a mission in the frozen tundra, her ship crashes...next to Steve Rogers.

Decades later, Steve and Jane are discovered and thawed from the ice. Soon, they train and become part of SHIELD. With Jane's unknown connections to Steve's best friend, he sees her as good partner.

Now, after the Civil War, Steve has found his best friend again. Things only get icy again when Bucky realizes something's up with Agent Jane Myers. He recognizes that name.

In the midst of discovering his past, Bucky finds interest in two Avengers: Natasha Romanoff the Black Widow and Wanda Maximoff the Scarlet Witch.
