She is always pulling strings. She is not like a cheater in a game. She is a creator, a puppet maker- a puppet master, and I am her greatest work of art. Ever since she brought me to this country, I have been a toy to refine and redress. She passed me around to those she trusted, the specialists, to make me more beautiful and more complex; to add joints to my body, color to my costume, and pain and expression to my face. The more she passes me around, the more I long to return to the state of an uncarved piece of wood.
