Hot tears ran down rosy cheeks. We all knew what the next step was. We were already up to our knees in the dark sea. As the thunder strom continued above us we walked further in. Fat rain drops rippled on the water all around us. We had become accustomed to the lightning striking in the distance. As we walked, grainy sand continued to latch on to the bottom of our feet. We held hands to keep us from losing each other. On my left, I could feel Caleb's clammy palm on my hand. His bony fingers grasp my hand tightly. On my right, I could feel the warm, firm grip of Lauren. We were up to our waists now. I look at Lauren. She stares defiantly into the dark stormy sky. She doesnt even wince at the sound of thunder. We stand still. "If this is the end, I want both of you to know that you mean everything to me." Came the shaky and boyish voice of Caleb. We said quick goodbyes and last words. We all tried to smile as Lauren counted down, her mature voice sounded very calm. "1, 2, 3..... JUMP." And we all jumped forward into the ever so dark water of the ocean. We were in sync, our hands still holding us together. What happened next was NOT what was expected.

"Give me a reason then." The boy demanded, eyes fuelled by a rage that was not unknown to him. "What?" Emmett questioned. "Give me a reason, tell me a lie, that contradicts to what you feel for me and I swear to you, I'd leave you alone." "I don't feel anything for you." Emmett easily lied, ignoring the ache in his heart at his words. "Not good enough." Emmett lashed out, shaking with agony as he had never known as his voice quivered pathetically, "I look at you and I see my world-shattering into these despicable shards of audaciousness that reflect my only desires, otherwise deemed unworthy by the universe. This is what I truly feel for you." "Is that what you really feel for me, darlin'?" "Yes and don't call me that, my name is-" "I don't care what your name is, just answer me." The boy vehemently interrupted, fiercely questioning him again. - Can a broken boy find love in an ostracised world where gender roles and even sexual desire is shaped to suit the society?
