"Underground, here, means safety. It means you don't have to worry about risks. Above means danger. Unknown things. That's all it is to most of us. That's all we know. But I can't help but think there is something great that comes with taking risks. Sure there is fear. But the question is can I live my life without knowing? I looked out below the cavern, at the bubbling stream that was unusually calm today. I think I know my answer." Lila Jasmine is a 17 year old girl living in a city underground. She has lived that way all her life, and always wondered what it was like outside of the comfort of her home. All she knew was she needed more then this. Can she overcome the fear of unknown things? With the help of her friend Kyle, can they get above and learn the truth?

In a world where the future isn't written but echoed, 17-year-old Lila hears the whispers of events yet to happen - but they're not hers. The echo she's been hearing for months is someone else's life, someone's fate, and that someone is in danger. As she tries to uncover the identity of the person behind the mysterious echoes, Lila finds herself caught in a web of secrets, shadowy figures, and a powerful organization that will do anything to keep their plans hidden. Can she stop what's coming before it's too late, or will the echoes become her own fate? First Chapter (Excerpt): I've always heard things. It started when I was younger - whispers of something I couldn't see, couldn't understand. At first, it was just faint sounds, like voices drifting from another world. But by the time I was sixteen, those whispers turned into something more - echoes. Clear, distinct, and impossible to ignore. It's strange. Most people think the future is something that hasn't happened yet. But for me, it's not that simple. I hear the future. The thing is, the future I hear isn't mine. I've been hearing her - a girl I don't know, yet know everything about. Her life, her fears, her pain. I can't explain how, but I hear her voice every night, calling out for help. I don't know her name. I don't know her face. All I know is that something horrible is coming for her. And if I can't stop it... then her fate might echo into mine. Tonight, I hear her again. The echo sharpens, clearer than ever before. "Help me, Lila. It's happening. They're coming." The echo fades. And just like that, I'm left with a choice - follow the voice, or ignore it and risk the consequences. I don't know why it's me she's calling to, but I can't just do nothing. I owe it to her. And to myself.
