When Chloe Valentine’s mother dies after a long battle with cancer, she is heartbroken, and it ruins her summer. She thought that she was going to sit around with her dad grieving for the rest of the summer until she starts college in the autumn, but then she finds out that her mother left her a ticket to Greece and $5,000. She wasn’t going to go because her dad needs her, and she needs to save up money, but when she walks her home to find her dad having sex with another woman, she flees the country.

Chloe thought she was going to have to spend her summer alone, but then she meets insane Ariadne, her laid back twin brother, Aristotle, Ophelia, Daphne, and many more, including Greek's most known rock star and heartthrob, Alek, who she feels a close connection too for some unknown reason.

She doesn’t understand that her dead mother has been keeping a very important secret from her that could either make her stay in Greece or the dreams of attending Toronto University, a school that she has wanted to go to since she was five, and her mother told her that she attended that college.
