The Elvenking

Elarinya has a shared past with the King of the Woodland realm, but it's a past that will come back to haunt them both as she once and for all returns to The Woodland Realm almost two millenniums after having left Thranduil behind in Lindon. Her reason behind leaving will be revealed soon enough as she struggles to look beyond what once was and now is reality.
Thranduil is no longer the man she knew, nor loved. The prince she fell in love with and who loved her as well, has been though many thing. And the responsibilities now pressed upon his shoulders may have changed him for good. Elarinya is forced to let go of the past, her feelings, and her wishes as she returns. But her inner turmoil brings forth old feelings in them both as she slowly realizes, perhaps she should have moved on as well and left for the undying lands.
Was she too naïve in returning? Join Elarinya as she begins to understand what it is she has set in motion by returning to Greenwood. Follow her story of love, hate, and the most dangerous thing of all-jealousy.

The Elvenking is like a very strong, old tree, deeply rooted in the kingdom he pledged himself to protect. He also pledged himself to protect his heart from love, out of fear that it might weaken him, but that proved to be disastrous. Love... what daunting word rubbed in his face by that fearless redhead elleth during the battle in Dale. Is there any love left in him? Follows what happens with Thranduil and Tauriel after BOTFA, during the War of the Ring and further into the 4th Age. Mainly from Thranduil's POV and including canon events that are only briefly mentioned in the books. I try to respect the lore as much as I can. Apart from the romance, I wanted to explore Thranduil's character based on what we know about his life. Feedback and comments are much appreciated :) "His words were unforgiving again, hiding under the same cold tone he had for centuries, yet he could not believe them himself anymore. Tauriel was looking at him, her gaze seemingly piercing through his soul. His dream to restore Mirkwood to Greenwood and his thoughts of avenging his beloved wife were contradicting everything he said. He did not want to care yet every fibre of his being cared too much." "There was something else that Thranduil noticed in Celeborn's eyes: a combination of respect and admiration. 'You are strong, Thranduil. You are like one of the old Mirkwood trees, deeply rooted in the earth, that the centuries cannot wither. I always thought that, no matter what evil lies upon Arda, you will endure.' The King's Hope

35 Phần Hoàn tất

Their greatest King was not always so great. He went through more to earn that title than any elf should ever have to. The elven threat was ended, who could desire the throne of Greenwood now? Thranduil must find a way to escape, or die trying. He can't aid this group of mercenaries lest he rip out his own heart. Rhovanel has to find her beloved before the baby comes. She needs Thranduil by her side more than ever, but when Annoneth is unsuccessful in locating him, Rhovanel starts to lose all hope of her king's return. A darkness stirs, leaving the fate of the elves uncertain. (Sequel to The King's Heart)
