After a run in with a dragon fight at a young age, Cory is left without friends and scarred from her experiences. However, the dragon that she had rescued in the fight soon becomes close to her, and Cory quickly learns how to deal with her problems. Seven years later, she is like any other girl in the town, her father influential and her future bright. But, in the middle of the night, the dragon shows up, with a prophecy and a gift. Cory, furious at the thought that the choice had been made without her, flees her village, determined to outrun her destiny. However, fate has a way of finding everyone, and it will find Cory sooner than she thinks.
