Liv and Hunter have been best friends for a while. He's also kind of Liv's only friend. Because she's not the most stable of girls, between her mood swings and her mother's constant talking to spirits (both from the other side and from the bottle). Hunter's life is normal but incredibly boring. He's been her tether to normality and she's been his escape from the small-town thinking surrounding him.
But now the incoming winter wind's brought in changes, not all for the better. Hunter's been plagued with a strange sickness that leads him to shrink away from everyone. Liv's been noticing him pulling away and starts worrying if she's losing her only source of sanity. Set against the recent farm animal slayings and Liv's mother's strange warnings, they're both thrown spiraling down to near-destruction.
Soon they'll learn that what happens in the woods, doesn't always stay in the woods.
