At events across Canada, the rallying cry of "it's Canada's time in tech" echoes throughout the event, social media, and the news. But does Canadian tech empower entrepreneurship, or do we just sell enterprise technology to Americans?

Jacob was born into a humble family, where his father worked as a carpenter. Every day, his father would collect discarded wood and metal scraps in their small town, trying to transform them into something useful before selling them. His upbringing taught him to view everything from a different perspective, to see the hidden potential that others might miss. They affectionately called his father "Pak Tino." Sometimes, even their neighbors, who often indulged in a consumerist lifestyle, would alleviate their guilt by giving Pak Tino some furniture in exchange for buying the latest products from IKEA, conveniently located just a 20-minute motorbike ride away. Since childhood, Jacob witnessed his father's unparalleled creativity. He grappled with scraps day in and day out, and while the results sometimes fell short, it never dampened his spirit. Jacob grew up in an environment filled with dedication and determination. He learned that everything had the potential to be turned into something valuable, a valuable lesson handed down by his father, Pak Tino. But one day, while accompanying his father on a scavenging expedition, Jacob stumbled upon something that caught his attention. It was a damaged teakwood cabinet with partially open drawers. Something seemed to glisten inside one of the drawers. Jacob glanced at his father, who was in the process of hoisting a large wooden crate and testing its strength by stomping on it vigorously. Jacob pulled open the drawer and discovered a roll of golden-colored fabric that seemed to beckon him with its shimmering brilliance. And from that moment on, Jacob's life was forever changed.
