Ember lives in Shadow Pine, part of a coven of witches. The village stays separated from the village of Silver Vale which is just across the border. The witches don't like the residents of Silver Vale and don't go near the village however recently Ember has been draw to Silver Vale and wants to cross the border, she doesn't know why but she knows she can't ever cross the line or the peace between the two villages will be broken forever.
