Emma is een 15 - jarige meid die houdt van ballet. Ze spendeert veel tijd in de gym -en balletzaal, wat er voor zorgt dat ze een slank en gespierd lichaam heeft. Haar goede looks maken van haar een populaire meid. Daarnaast is Emma ook een goede student. Ze behaalt altijd hoge resultaten. Haar succesgehalte verhoogt alleen maar als ze een relatie begint met de übercoole, knappe Briek. Thuis gaat alles behoorlijk. Haar ouders zijn gescheiden en ze moet regelmatig naar haar vader, wat minder meevalt. Haar vader is een echte workaholic-zakenman, hij heeft weinig tijd voor haar maar is wel ontzettend rijk. Brenda is zijn nieuwe vriendin, ze is wel vriendelijk maar het is toch niet hetzelfde en Emma heeft er best wel problemen mee dat haar vader een nieuwe vriendin heeft. Haar moeder is van het bezorgde type. Ze is psychologe en werkt in een revalidatiecentrum bij kinderen met autisme, ADHD en gedragsstoornissen. Ze heeft ook een nieuwe vriend, Tom.
