"Beneath it all, what is love? Who are we to say we love when all we know is how to be afraid?" All Sarah Apastalle knew was how to be alone. Living with only her mom after her dad left as a kid, she's struggled to fit in. She finally began to understand her place when she met Jamie, and she began to live her life in high school as the unpopular, slightly awkward girl, thinking she understood what love was. In comes Alex, the boy who her mom suggests she "talk to" more. His dad owns one of the biggest companies in town, and if Sarah doesn't screw everything up, they can rise from the poverty they live in. The person she loves, or the person she has to love? She struggles to find herself beneath it all. ❣
Jesse's life turns upside down once the football player from his school finds out he's gay. Because of that he has to obey to jock's every command or else his secret will be revealed to everyone.
Jesse already had a hard enough life because of his alcoholic father and insensitive mother and this made things even more complicated. Not to mention the fact that he was living in a pretty homophobic environment and for his own safety he had to hide his true identity.
Will Jesse be able to overcome this challenge? You'll have to read more to find out.

Ps. This is a first draft of the book. You can find the polished version of this story here by a different title (Melancholic.) It is also uploaded on DREAME and Inkitt. I'd recommend checking that out because it has less errors, a few changes and some added scenes.
