This is a Phantom of the Opera fanfic. Nicholas comes from America to France to hopefully work at the Palais Garnier Opera house. Upon arrival she finds out that this Opera house actually has a real life phantom. Will working here be a dream come true or a dream turned nightmare? OH and of course I don't own Phantom of the Opera, the movie, the book, or the play.

Unmasked

The Phantom of the Opera was the inspiration for countless novels and movies, but they've all been based on speculation. Without my official autobiography, the assorted fables about the elusive - and dare I say exceptionally handsome, masked genius, are just fictional works. They all attempt to pass off their theories as fact and people choose to believe whatever version they like best. Some say my face was deformed at birth, others say it was burned by acid, and let's not forget the notion that it was the result of a pact with the Devil himself. But let me assure you, none of these so-called chronicles are the real story. The Opera was just one of many houses. So, what made me resort to playing the part of a phantom and hiding from the world behind a mask? Well, like the downfall of most men, it all started with a woman...
