Emily Ray Donovan was broken enough when her father died due to a heart attack when she was just 11 years old.
But her life gets turned completely upside down when she faces a horrific accident with her brother...only her surviving.
Even more has changed in Emily's life now and she's not sure if it's even worth giving another chance.
She is on the edge of life or death until someone walks into her life...Dylan Elliot Thomas
Dylan is new to town and also, a poet. He likes to share his works with the world and give meaning to poetry and life, helping others see the light again.
So when Dylan meets Emily, he knew he just had to help her.
Emily is of course stubborn. She doesn't believe in life anymore and couldn't care less for it.
So Dylan comes up with a plan. A plan to make Emily feel happiness again. Definitions is the key...
Each day Emily and Dylan see each other, they have to share a word and its definition that they feel is relevant with the way they feel about someplace, something, or someone.
As seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months pass; feelings grow and emotions start to deepen between Dylan and Emily and to Emily's surprise, she starts to feel happiness again. Not just with life but, with Dylan.
But Dylan has a secret. A secret that could tear both of them apart.
When that secret is out, Emily's world starts to fall apart again and this time, it doesn't seem it can be fixed.
Knowledge is the key to everything they say. But the heart is the key to happiness.
