"Anna?" I heard a familiar voice call my name. I looked up and saw Collin leaning his forehead against the wire fence.

"Oh, hey Collin." I replied as I sat back up. I was glad it was him and not one of his parents or older brother.

"What are you doing?" He asked as he yawned. He ruffled his short black hair.

"I ran away." I plainly told him.

            "Why?"

"Faith called me a stupid baby." I told him what my sister called me. I crossed my arms and grunted at the thought of my sister.

"You can't stay out here forever! It's cold, and there's that stray raccoon!" The raccoon part scared me, but I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth, or trying to get me to go back inside. I pretended not to be afraid.

"What are you doing out here?" I changed the subject.

"I heard the bench squeak." He told me as he backed up a foot to sit on one of the swings in the two-person swingset in his backyard that was facing me.

"That woke you up?" I started to feel guilty about waking him up. I hated it whenever my sister did that to me, and I didn't want Collin to be angry at me. He was always nice.

"No," he laughed, "I was playing Gameboy."

My sister was the only one in the house with one. My parents told us to share, but she never let me use it. "Lucky!"

"You can come over tomorrow if you go inside," he bargained with a smile.

"Deal." By then, I wasn't really mad at Faith anymore. I was just really excited to see Collin the following day.
