This is an interesting story.  Not the Go-Onger adaptation, but how I'm doing it.  We know that there must have been a version of the RPM powers in the main timeline, since there was a version of Jungle Karma Pizza in the RPM Universe.  So, how were these powers used? Well, read on. 

In the city of Pane, an old man finds three teenagers that keep bothering the neighbors.  He takes them, and is about to get them arrested by calling the police when something in his basement rumbles, revealing three sentient cars.  At the same time, the ancient Zaxon Empire awakens in Pane, and want to destroy the city to make way for their new kingdom.  But, to rise from their trapped area, they must steal human emotions.  Now, it's up to the Mech Rangers and their sentient Mechazords to fight off this threat.All Rights Reserved

In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again. Got this idea listening to Sajni re and it spiralled out of it. Inspired by power rangers RPM (Hello at last) cause that's what I am watching these days. Mentalist (making people fight with each other) And something else I don't remember. Wanted to finish it with ring and all but felt it's repeatitive. Might add some stories under this same story as parts cause I have some ideas.

So I thought I write this to show what I think they were up to during the In Space Finale, but they won't just be dealing with Piranhatrons and Quantrons, since there were also some old villains who weren't with their respective groups during the invasion of the universe, so some of them will be popping up too.
