In 2046 the world has changed. The planet is unified... mostly. and the world has become a better place. Technology is far more advanced and is a necessary part of everyday life after all the chip has made everyone's life easier after all your entire life is stored in your wrist. the thing most people love is the Immersion Units. Used for every thing from schooling to gaming this device will let you have a time difference of up to one every day hour becoming ten in unit hours. But whats the true purpose behind the units. Well i'm afraid that is above your clearance so you'll just have to read this log of this young mans life and take the journey alongside him. (Rating changed to mature at latter date)

What is reality? I was John-now Charlie, a woman with a VR game tester's cunning and a professional whiskey enthusiast's attitude. But then AIs have risen, and my job evaporated faster than last night's drink. The game feels too real. My memories don't line up, and everyone has their own version of what's true. Simulation? Reality? The lines are a blur-and I'm stuck in the middle. If I want to stop a dystopian future, I'll need allies, both in-game and out. Oh, and avoid ticking off the AIs hunting me for bending the rules. Identity crisis? What's that? ---- An earthling's soul was born into an incompatible, human body. Their muscles misbehaved, their skin and body felt like a rigid shell, and their weak constitution left little options for any activities outside of paperwork, books and anything on a screen at home. Then the divine beings tried to correct the mistake and removed the mismatched soul from its unfitting body, slinging it to a distant world with a new body to control. The human flesh-prison replaced with the unlimited options of a shapeshifter, the soul has now a magic-filled world to explore. Grow fur for a mountain hike, grow gills and fins for a deep dive. It's time to catch up on decades worth of missed travels and activities. But who wants to deal with the flesh-craving predators called shapeshifters? Another global purge could start, if the freshly transferred soul shows its abilities too much. ---- The rankings are a mystery to me - especially after this story made it to No. 1 under the shapeshifter tag (and others). Welcome to fantasy amateur hours! This is my first time writing that kind of novel. Hopefully there's a bit of improvement along the way. Feel free to tell me what works or not! However, the only people Joko cares about are taken away from him. A companies commercial promised the best RPG, however, Joko couldn't buy it. His friends are taken away and he is just about ready to die when a mysterious woman gives him a new chance. It's the year 2056... but nobody cares about the dates anymore. Not since the Neocallers came to invade. It's been fifteen years since they were destroyed and the New World was made. But most people think the machines haven't left, just found a way to rule man using puppets... I don't... if.... is... ...... ...... Sorry about that. My recorder is a bit faulty. OK, fine its crap. But I built it, like everything in our home. Where was I? Oh yes. Puppets. These Puppets are actually the reason I'm recording this. This computer is a microchip called the Atomiton, a device that acts as a personal computer inside your head, allowing you to work on projects, search the internet, monitor your heart rate, and even play video games. These games belong to the genre of games dubbed VR (Virtual Reality). In the year 2060, a college emerges in the north eastern region of Iceland. This is the Global Educational Online Virtual Reality University (GEOVRU for short). It is easily the most expensive college in the world, costing $73, 456 tuition alone, not counting for even room and board. Now, more than eleven years later, a boy named under the alias of Caedes is attending his third year at GEOVRU college. As he thinks over his life and what he wants to do with it, he struggles with his past, and all the loss he has suffered over the past two years. With the loss of his beloved girlfriend, his best friend and his father, what more can Caedes take? This year is gonna be a rough one...Complete
