The roots of the "vampire" go back centuries. We all know them as what Hollywood has depicted them for as long as we know. Now, I'm not one to speak for everyone, but I will do my best to give my knowledge, and describe my experiences.

Newling
Have you ever thought that vampires existed? When you think of vampires, do garlic and stakes come to mind? Well, vampires do exist, but we are not what you think. Vampires aren't just blood-craving monsters who hunt humans; we are peaceful. We do have sharp fangs, that much is true, but we aren't allergic to garlic; in fact, some of us love it, myself included. We don't burst into flame, or melt in the sunlight, and we definitely do not sparkle in the sun either. As vampires, we live for thousands, and sometimes even hundreds of thousands of years (if a pesky, self-righteous human doesn't drive a stake into our heart first...). I am not young by vampire terms. New and young vampires, are "Newlings". Until a vampire is at least one hundred years old, they can't turn a human into a vampire, and are considered a Newling. But I'm what we call a "Maturling". Maturlings are at least a century old. In vampire years, I'm one hundred, on the dot. Though in human years, I'm about twenty-four. There is a third category of vampires called "Purelings". Purelings are vampires who have always been － well, vampires, － and have never had a single human in their family tree. Purelings, unlike all other vampires, can turn a human at any age. (Imagine being turned into a vampire by a teething toddler... yikes). Like with all cultures, there are things that are forbidden. For vampires, we are not allowed, by any means, to turn a human out of spite, or if they refuse to be one of us, but when feelings surface, they can change things forever...Complete

"What is it about you, Kira?" Oliver asked, more to himself than me, in a whisper. I could hardly breathe with him being so close and my heart was pounding almost painfully hard. "I don't know what you mean." I answered in an out of breathe manner, though I believed he was feeling the same as me. I wished I didn't have these crazy attraction and affectionate feelings for him, but I did; there was no controlling them, so I supposed I was just in for a long ride, one that would certainly lead to heartbreak. However, just because I knew the inevitable, I wasn't going to fight how I felt about him. ---------------------------------------------------------- Love may be rough for most people, but it's even harder when you fall for someone you can never be with. Kira is a 16 year old human slave that has been living with a vampire named Sam for many years. When a war breaks out and Sam is sent to a vampire clan on the other side of the continent, Kira is forced to move in with Sam's older brother Oliver. Oliver is the leader of the vampires of the Ibitario Clan. He's powerful and gorgeous, but more importantly, he's cruel and heartless. When I was 10 and my sister was 13 mom and dad had separated, my father took me and my sister to Italy where my dad was from because his older brother, my uncle had passed so my father had to take over the family business. 2years later Abigail moved in with my mom in New Orleans while I stayed with my father because I was angry at my mother for leaving us and mad at her for not visiting me...or telling me why she had left. My mother is a wolf and my father was a wolf until there were hunters that attacked us my father thought the only way to protect my mother and sister was if he became a vampire So when they found out my mother was pregnant with me they were confused my father thought my mother was having an affair since vampires can't procreate so they went to a witch and she told my parents that I am my father's child. The witch had told them that I am a wolf but with vampire blood in my system so if I die I'll become a hybrid.Complete
