《This story takes place after The Heroes of Hyrule!!》

It has been a year since Link and Zelda have restored Hyrule Castle and the morale of their people. The plains are bountiful with flora and fauna, the evils of the world have been erased, and Zelda has risen from the ashes of her past to become the Queen of Hyrule.

Link, however, is locked in a battle between being the knight that Zelda needs or letting his guard down and allowing himself to fall deeper in love with her. If she even feels the same way...and if she did, how would Hyrule feel about the young ruler averting her attention to focus on her own interests before her kingdom's?

"Finally, she swallowed and looked into the blue of his eyes. And all he could see were the stars shining young and bright in her own..."

"Princess!" he yelled after her. "Where are you going?" "Back to the castle," she replied without stopping. "Not by yourself you're not!" "I'm sorry,"-she whipped around-"I didn't realize you were my father?" "Your father, the king, would execute me for letting you travel by yourself." "Oh, so this is about self-preservation?" "Yes. Yours. There are monsters all over Hyrule now, Your Highness." Blue eyes pointedly looked her up and down. "And by the looks of it, you're not equipped to handle that." She mirrored his scrutiny and scoffed. "What, and you are?" She gestured to the cairns beyond the trees. "Are you going to protect me as well as you protected them?" Calamity is upon Hyrule. The powers they were promised don't come easily, and after years of outright failure, Princess Zelda can't help but wonder if Hylia chose wrong. Zelink AU Medieval Fanfiction Zelda, currently Princess of Hyrule wishes to see the world outside of the castle. Her father expects her to marry one of the chosen suitors to prepare Hyrule's next King, but she doesn't like the sight of any of them. Link is a Hylian knight with a tragic past. Being secretive and closed off is how he prefers to live. He has a quest he believes he must do alone-to find his older sister. But Hyrule is subject to an unknown danger, within itself. How will the mystery unfold and how will Zelda and Link achieve their dreams? I don't think I'm super great at medieval writing...(knowing the time period, vocabulary, descriptions, etc...) but I tried anyways! Sorry for the unappetizing description. But I think I write stories better than I write summaries I promise haha... ~Clean and appropriate for most ages~ There will be some minor blood and other descriptions that may be disturbing for young people. I'd say 12+? Cover art does not belong to me, I don't know who it belongs to. If it's yours and you want it taken down, let me know and I'll do that. No swearing in comments or anything inappropriate please. That being said I would love some constructive criticisms because I want to become a better writer. All rights belong to Nintendo. The rights of the plot go to me, and please don't post anything I write anywhere else. Highest rating #10 Zelink 4/13/20 COMPLETED** DECEMBER 30, 2023
