The rain poured down on us, drenching my dress and hair. I stared at him, a look of confusion taking over my face. The one who I thought was always going to be there for me, who would never hurt me, was holding a gun to my head.

As if reading my thoughts, a tear slipped down his cheek, barley noticeable with all of the raindrops already there. He moved a stray piece of hair from my eyes with the barrel of the gun, placing it right back into the same spot when it was moved. His deep, brown eyes glassed over, causing mine to do the same. I hated how much I cared for him.

"Don't cry, little mama. You know I would never hurt you." He smiled lightly, sniffling.

I mustered up whatever was left of my voice. "Then why are you doing this?" My voice cracked towards the end, making me sound smaller and weaker than I wanted to.

His smile faltered, and he looked back at the group of people behind him. They all motioned for him to go on, pushing him to finish his job. He looked back at me, his eyes trailing from the tears falling down my cheeks to my visible shaking body.

"I'm sorry, little mama," he choked out before looking away to the people behind him.

A cracking sound rang through the air, and that was it.

Or so I thought.

BOOK #1 in The Fire series TRIGGER WARNING IN SOME CHAPTERS He leans closer, keeping me pinned against the wall with his hands on either side of my head. I glanced at both of them before holding his glare with my own. He was giving me a cold stare, caging me in like an animal. I bit my lip, trying to hold it back. I was never good in situations like these. He stopped leaning forward when his face was just inches from mine. He was trying to make me uncomfortable. Trying to scare me, but he didn't. I wasn't scared of him. I didn't hide my face or get nervous... I just bit my lip harder, trying to hold it in. It would just make things worse for me, I bet. He kept his eyes on mine as I glanced at his friend behind him with his arms crossed and a bored expression on his face. I looked back at the man in front of me. "You shouldn't act that way around me." He says coldly. "I can have you dead right-" I couldn't hold it in. I started laughing. He leans back, shocked, but his face goes into a glare as soon as his friend behind him perks up, watching, interested now. I calm down a little. "I'm sorry." I say, catching my breath. "Continue, Continue." He watched me closely before leaning closer to me again. "I can have you killed-" Suddenly, I lost it again, laughing harder, bending a little to hold my stomach. He punched the wall in an effort to scare me but instead made me laugh even harder, falling to the ground and rolling on my side. Soon I had his friend laughing with me as the man in front of me glared at both of us. "Don't give me that look. She's the one who started laughing." His friend said, wheezing a little bit and trying to stop laughing. I calmed down a bit, standing up to face them, a smile on my face. "Now, if you're done threatening me," I raise an eyebrow. "Or at least trying to. I'll be on my way." With that, I grabbed my backpack, turned my back to them, and walked away.

(Original Version) My cousin and I are the only true bloods left in the Thanos Family. I'm eighteen now and my absent father decided to finally take responsibility of having another child. Moving from New York to California wasn't the hard part. The hard part was trying to find the ones who murdered my mother and my grandparents, pretending to be a normal high schooler, and along with that, fighting my feelings for one of my brother's best friends. Didn't I mention that I am also going to be the new Don of our West Coast Empire? I am Gaiana Kallisto Thanos, Mafia Princess, and the best fucking fighter there is. This is book one of the Mafia Duet. WARNING: 18+ Mature scenes and language. _________________________________________ EXCERPT: "I only give respect to those who deserve it, and the only one in this room that deserves it is Alex. Plus you can't call me a slut when you are the one who loves to constantly have her bed warmed with partners. I'm the one in a stable relationship." She gave a smirk. "You sure about that," she asked. She took her phone out and showed me a photo of Luca dressed in what he wore today, escorting Stephany into the passenger seat of his car. I felt my heart drop to my stomach but didn't outwardly show it. Years of being able to turn off my emotions come in handy. "Well there goes that." I looked into her eyes. "What? Did you expect me to drop to the floor and cry? Honey, you don't know me. And you never will because I'm moving out." I looked at my father and said, "It was nice meeting you but I'm good. I'll pack my stuff and be out by tonight." _________________________________________ Start: March 30, 2018 End: August 31, 2018 Copyrighted 2018

I hid my gun underneath the bed because I don't fully trust him. He is unpredictable. I moaned, not able to hold back the way that made me feel and as I slowly recovered from it, he spanked me one last time before he pulled out. He stood up, grabbed his scattered clothes all over the room as he pointed a finger " Don't forget that, this doesn't change anything between us " I lifted myself unable to move due to the ache between my legs. He instantly pinned my naked body to the wall, a hand cupping my throat with a tight grip whilst he placed the other beside the left side of my head on the wall. I gasped with shock."You are mine to fuck.My enemy and mine alone." He demanded with a husky voice. He put on his black shirt and I take the chance to tug him, our lips inches apart. "If I am yours, then you are mine" I mumble slowly. He smiled at himself, his dimples appearing.

"I wonder if that girl fuckin wit my enemy and it got me wondering if she'd try kill me too." He shook his head. "Shit and if dem niggas caught me off guard I wouldn't know wat I'd do." I didn't say anything by listen to this young man. "I bleed they bleed." He mumbled looking straight ahead. "They follow, I lead". His eyes gotten dark now, staring straight at me as if he were blood thirsty. He had almost a smirk on his face... almost like.. almost like the devil. "They say karma is a bitch.." he trailed off. "And even after he's dead". He paused. "That's why". He paused again. "Paranoid". He shook his head, chuckled a little and got up and left. I sat there defeated and finally called the doctor. "Herbert Wright... His symptoms gotten worse". BOOK 2 - KARMA I felt a burning sensation. I touched my chest, where my heart is and raised up my hand to see that it was blood. I looked up to see the figuree standing over me with fear, hurt and hatred in their eyes. "I love you Herbert". She began sobbing. I recognised the voice. "But I am my brothers keeper". I began shaking my head quickly as she pointed the pistol gun at me. I tried to talk but I couldn't. The words wouldn't come out. I was dead already. Tears started streaming down her face now. "It was either you or us." She waved the gun about now wiping her tears, looking down at her stomach "That thing called Karma ain't a bitch like me". She mumbled clicking the pistol. My eyes rolled back and then.. "BANG". Unconscious but conscious. The once black figure removed its mask exposing that it's -. - 2 BOOKS IN 1 -

[COMPLETED] "Shoot," Joey mumbles, letting out a string of profanities under his breath. We turn around to find a group of men, all with guns, standing where we just came from, and they look pissed... probably because they were forced to run through this tunnel after us. "Thought you could get away, didn't you?" The man who I saw before asks. His husky voice booms in the hollow tunnel, reverberating off of the dirt walls. His voice sounds familiar, and a realization strikes me. It sounds like the man from my dream. I remember him holding a gun and wearing a blue suit, smiling evilly at me. "Leave us alone," Joey says, sounding dangerous and snapping me out of my thoughts. The levity of the situation hits-we need to get out of here. I look around for a route of escape and thankfully I see a light, literally, at the end of the second tunnel. I let out a small, almost inaudible, gasp and nudge Joey. He looks at me and I subtly gesture with my head to the second tunnel. He glances at it and immediately we are on the same page. His jaw sets and he looks at the group. The man speaks up again, chuckling darkly-a sound I will never forget and will be permanently etched into my brain, "You can thank your father for starting this mess." -------------------------- Liza was a normal teenaged girl, living the average life that an eighteen year old girl should be living. She had good friends, good grades, a happy family, a loving boyfriend, and an overall content life, seemingly having everything a person could ask for. In this hectic adventure of gun fights, torture, bank robbing and intimidating mafia men, Liza has to face it all, putting her average life on the line in order to defeat the bad guys and go back to her normal way of living.
