She was a child born of rebellion. Clairette grew up with her only her mother in a normal house in the kingdom. But her once normal life is threatened when she learns she is the rightful heir to the throne. Torn away from the only stable thing in her life, her mother, she is thrown into a world where everyone but the servants ignores and hate her. Especially the Queen, who produced a son with her father that should have been the future king of the land if Clairette wasn't born. That hatred shows through the Queen's harsh actions and abuse towards Clairette. It then begins to threaten her life when she is locked far away in an old tower with no food, water or light and no one around. But Clairette survives with the help of an old familiar that once belonged to the powerful Mage who lived in the tower. Clairette, wanting to forget her old life, changed her name and begins to study the dusty spell books, learning how to be a Mage in a world where Mage's were rare. She then leaves the tower on her 19th birthday in hope of finding adventure and learn about the world beyond the tower. But she is once again having to face her old past when the evil creatures known as Wyca's begin to invade their kingdom. Now armed with an array of knowledge, her stepbrother the prince and a lowly thief she might be the kingdom's last hope.
