“Good morning!” Miss Tan sing songed.

“Good morning Miss Tan!” The rest of the class copied her tone.

“For Health today, we’ll be having partners-” Yvo- Miss Tan announced but the whole class interjected in and celebrated. “-Out of the hat.” She finished, we all groaned and became silent once she put her hand up to command us to shush. “It’s the first week of school. So therefore, I thought this would be a good exercise and plus it would be a great chance for you to meet new friends!”
“Who knows, maybe even more?” She seductively said, and of course, I gave her- I mean, partially all the class a disgusting look..
“Now, any questions?” Miss Tan asked then Alana Sommers raised her hand up immediately.

“How long will this be?” She whined.

“A months or so” Miss Tan nonchalantly answered.

I couldn’t care less and looked out the window and coincidentally, a butterfly flew past it. I watched it flutter away out and kept looking at it until it was out of my sight.

“Abigail.” A voice said and I swerved my head over. “Yes?”

“Pick out of the hat.” She commanded. I nodded slowly and walked over to the front of the class, the students eyeing me and I became more conscious of who I pick out. I reach in the hat and there it goes! A piece of paper I picked popped out of the hat. The students had a little mini conversation with one another as Miss Tan grabbed the little folded paper and opened it up.

“Quentin D. Lakes!”
