The last thing Ellie Malcolm wanted was to be different. She wanted to fit it, to have friends, to be popular, but things didn't exactly go as planned.

When a substitute showed up in her English class, she didn't think anything of it. She knew that her English teacher got sick often, so she thought she was just sick. What she didn't realize was that it was so much more than that. She didn't realize that there were forces at play she would never understand.
