Sam McCartney is a little 8 year old girl. She and her family lived in a normal house, in a normal neighborhood, in a normal town. It was her 5th birthday when her grandfather gave her a small wooden cat. He carved it to perfection because he knew that Sam was perfect just the way she was. Sam named her perfect little cat Ginger, for it's color was a light orange tone. At night, she always put Ginger inside an old tissue box with some of her mother's sewing fabrics and cotton balls she got from school. When Sam woke up, she would bring him to the table for breakfast. When she went to school, she would put him in her desk so he would be with her at all times. Sam spent her life with that wooden cat, but one day, on the 21st of May, she found her cat to be covered in black ink. What happened? Sam wondered to herself.
