eleutheromania
(n.) an intense and irresistible desire for freedom.
Coda's whole life has been normal - well, as normal as it gets. Normal family, normal friends, normal school - and he's happy to keep it all that way. He has never been one for adventures in the first place, and would much rather curl up with a good book or go swimming in a nice, safe pool than do anything dangerous or risky.
However, something odd seems to be plaguing him after the day he turns sixteen - the day the infamous assassin 'Leader' was caught and killed only the year before, too. Suddenly, his peaceful family is controlling, and his parents not who they seem to be at all.
When pushing for the truth lands him in a mental hospital, Coda is sure his life is at rock bottom. Nevertheless, his new roommate Kai and the rest of the patients at Atticus' Home for the Mentally Ill seem to be trying to prove otherwise - once at rock bottom, all you need is a shovel to get you further than you ever anticipated. Just who exactly is he? And how is he related to the assassin on the news?
With murder, mystery and insanity biting at his heels, Coda's life before has never looked more tempting. Can he get back to that? Or will the strange going-ons at Atticus Home hold him hostage until the end of time?

Jessica "Ike" Wordsworth can dive into books, but she isn't prepared for a monster - and a ruthless murderer killing her tourists.
Ike is fighting the aftermath of a nasty divorce that left her husband in custody of her homesitting business - and her beloved cats.
With nothing but a turquoise construction trailer to call her home, Ike invests her last quid and becomes partner in a tour company specialising in bespoke trips for book-lovers. When the guide hired to take on the first tour drops out at the last minute, Ike has to take over and steer her guests towards the cradle of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein".
All to soon she realises there truly are monsters on the loose, one of them a ruthless killer who's targetting her tourists.
To unearth the truth, Ike will have to cooperate with her moronic partner, Gary Sands, 13th Baron of Nettlehole and founder of LiteraTours. When they don't succeed in stopping the killer, she realises she'll have to take the plunge and draw on some rather unusual skills her family has been hiding from the world . . .
"Frankenstein's Guide" is the first instalment in the "LiteraTours Cozy Mystery series".
