The boys

I was just a little girl and I could've sworn what happened to me that night was real. It was an early morning; the sky was foggy and the wind stood still. I woke up in my bed and looked around at the faded darkness around me. Got up and headed to the bathroom to rinse my eyes. I looked around for a moment, eyes half open. I saw a figure, as I turned towards the shower. Opened my eyes to full attention, I saw a boy hanging by his neck with his eyes wide open. I couldn't scream, I shouldn't, I won't. So I ran back to my bedroom, I hit an invisible door before entering my room. To my terrible surprise there was a body in my bed, underneath the blanket slithering around. My eyes widened and I finally ran to my parent's room. I slowly walked into the living room, turned to the right and saw three shadows in each corner of the room. It was clear there were three boys dressed in black with no faces waiting to jump out at me. The air felt thick, my stomach tightened, and I couldn't breathe. I found my strength again and took the chance to run to my parent's room. As I stepped forward I felt a rough hand and a dangerous pull around my wrist. I feared looking back so I closed my eyes, next thing I knew my father came, saving me. He took me away from the stranger's grip, kicked the boys out and called the police. The next day I brought it up, telling everyone about the horrifying experience I had yesterday. But no one believed me, I asked my father to vouch for me because he was a witness, he was the one that kicked the boys out. Even he had a look on his face that said otherwise. He just played along, I could tell in his voice that he had no idea what I was talking about. I knew what happened that morning, I knew what I saw. There are still questions till this day, if it was just a nightmare that felt completely real.
