Max: A normal highschool girl who loves books and music. She hangs with the "cool kids" in school thanks to her twin brother, but shes never really fitted in. Always the outcast, lonely.

Ruby: A senior dropout from Max's school. She used to look like a feminine girl but when she dropped out for some reason, she had a severe wardrobe change. She's back in town after a year and has a job as a dj in a club.
