Stephaine just lost everything. Her mother, her father, her sister, and her hearing. Deaf, an orphan, and not dealing too well, she moves in with her Aunt and her Aunt's new husband Ricky. One problem: Although they live in the mountians, a place that has always brought peace to Steph, every winter she will have to watch as the snow falls, every flake a reminder of the worst day of her life. When she throws her self into snowboarding to numb the pain, Stephanie finds a natural talent for the sport and a love for flying on the pike. When I Woke is a story about grief and growing up. With a little sport added into the mix, will Stephanie find a new home and and new love?
