Ashoka had not managed to bring Darth Vader back to a balance between the two manifestations of the force, but she was still willing to do so. Vader was not inclined to kill Ahsoka anymore, but all the more Darth Sidious was. Actually not killing her, but torturing her into infinity. 
Helping the rebellion, Ahsoka did not realize, that this enabled Sidious to capture her and the worst time of her life unfolded.
It was all part of the dark side's plan.
