On the day Emily Haze disappeared, a few locks of her hair and blotches of blood were found on the edgy rocks of a cliff near the town. Assuming she was dead, everybody wondered who had killed her.
Nate Willow was the person who was intrigued by her during their tutoring sessions. He was also the kid who was often caught outside the school smoking a cigarette and drinking himself to unconsciousness on a perfectly bright afternoon.
And knowing Emily wasn't dead despite the maroon liquid of her blood above the freezing water that night, he wondered where in the world was Emily Haze.
