Jess Grant is an orphan. She is a punk. She also is counting down the days to her death. Only 20 weeks left. But then the sell-out punk boyband, Compass, comes onto the scene. Made up of Drew Alexander, Parker Leon, Ethan James, Will Jacobs, and Dylan Mason, Compass has been forced to go to Reicher High due to 'bad behavior' on the boys' part. Jess's school. She immediately hates Compass. She thinks that they are a stuck-up, egotistical, rude, etc., etc., boyband. They think that she is a weird, lame, and ignorant bitch. But, one day proves pivotal for Jess and Compass's Drew. Can they keep what happened, and the result, a secret? Even with the fans, Searchers, sneaking around? And the biggest question of all: Can he save her?

I know I could just take the story down, but it was one of the first ever stories I wrote that I liked and completed, and although I admit now it's not great, it shows progress. Octaveus was depressed. He knew it, but no one else did. He hid it, just as he hid his scars. He wasn't human either; he hid that too. He hid almost everything about himself from everyone, in order to minimize the ridicule. His mental state, his thoughts, his scars, even his questionable sexuality. But that only fed into his sadness. Drew was insecure. He didn't like standing up for himself in fear of saying something wrong. He didn't even change in the main locker room for PE, he went in the stalls. He was anxious. He wanted to know what was happening and when so that he can prepare for all possible outcomes of that event. And he was gay; his family knew and supported him, but no one else knew. He was too scared of how they would react to tell them. Jessie knew his brother would be teased. It was really a fact. Humanity wasn't too good at accepting of different beings. No matter how human Octaveus made himself look, he couldn't hide his unnaturally pale skin that no matter how hard he tried would not tan or his yellow cat eyes. He just had to try to fit in, same as the rest of their family. Seth was the school bad boy, and secret werewolf. His hobbies included pushing around the Freshman, flirting relentlessly with any and every attractive popular girl in sight, and trying not to think about Octaveus. He didn't want other people to find out about his thoughts on the emo new kid. So, naturally, he made Octaveus's school day a living hell.
