hexes for exes
EVERY SUMMER, four families make their yearly exodus to the British seaside town of Briarville. For Livia Wong, the trip had been tradition ever since she could remember. Summer was always spent alongside the pristine beaches with the dreamy-hued sunsets. The trip is awaited with anticipation, not fear. Until this year. Livia didn't leave Briarville last year on good terms. It wasn't all her fault, of course not, but she was partially to blame. Being no longer on talking terms with your two closest friends is one thing. Having them as your neighbours for the entire rest of the summer, while your parents and other friends have no idea something is wrong? The plan was simple: Livia was eighteen, about to head to university. If she made it through this summer, she could leave Briarville in the distant past and never have to think about it again. But it was going to be okay. She might not be on talking terms with the Calvert-Egerton twins anymore, and she might have always been on horrible terms with Sarah Hepburn, but she still had Brie and Lila. And her little sister, Pamela. Still, eighteen years of friendship was never something that would simply go down the drain. Livia had some work to do if she wanted to make it out this summer unscathed. Her heart had been broken once, she was not going to let it happen again. Cinnamon Boy
Romeo O'Brian has spent most of his teenage life studying, sailing, and silently loving Briar Crawford--his sister's best friend, his next-door neighbor, the girl who lives like she has nothing to lose. When their families send them to the beach house unsupervised for the summer, Romeo knows it's his last chance to tell her how he feels before he sets off on a year-long solo sailing trip around the world. But Briar is drowning in her own way, caught between grief, guilt, and the ghosts of her late brother, Will. She's not interested in falling in love. And if she was, it would never be with Romeo, the cinnamon-sweet boy who she grew up protecting. Now surrounded by friends, lies, and overwhelming feelings, Romeo has one summer to prove he's more than the sweet, sensitive, guy she's always known. Everyone's making him look cooler, funnier, hotter, and more grown up than she ever saw before. Now Briar has to decide if the only heart she was never meant to break is the one she can't live without. For her, it's supposed to be casual. Just a distraction. But Romeo's not a little boy anymore. And no matter how hard she tries, Briar can't stop falling for him

Spring break was supposed to be simple. A group of friends. A remote lake cabin. No parents. No rules. Just sun, water, and wild nights. But the longer they stay, the more things start to feel wrong. Shadows move where they shouldn't. Whispers echo through the woods. And one by one, they start to disappear. Like someone's crossing names off a list. Now, the question isn't who will make it out alive... It's whether any of them were ever really friends to begin with. Warning: This story contains substance use, mental health struggles, and intense scenes of gore.
The Lifeguard Hates You (Completed)
Yeah, if you could stop pretending to be dead that would be great. -- A satirical romance revolving around the lives of a Spa's pool lifeguard team. -- Jay has hated Rory for as long as he's known her. Rory has loved Jay since she first laid eyes on him. This has not made life at the Earth and Body spa easy for anyone on the All-Year Lifeguard team. But this year, everything's going to change. Suddenly, Rory has a backbone, one that Jay's not so sure he appreciates. No longer will she put up with Jay's grumpy, uninterested attitude. She's 100% done bending over backwards for him and being in love with him. That's all easier said and done, especially when bunking accommodations are changed and guess who Rory's new roommate is. Now Bryce, the leader of the rival lifeguard team from the spa across the lake, is showing interest in her. Something Rory isn't certain she trusts. Is his interest in her genuine, or is he only interested in using her as a pawn in the feud between him and Jay? Either way, she definitely likes how angry this all seems to be making Jay. Rory finds herself in a strange new position. Two men are seemingly vying for her attention, dark secrets from her past are threatening to resurface, and the patrons are being nothing short of obnoxious. Will this summer be the summer of changes, or the summer everything comes to an end? Accolades 🥈 2nd Place - Romance Category - The Katana AwardsComplete
