" How dare you?!" His voice filled with rage. I heard a crash and a bang. He didn't sound human at the time. I was being nosy and was eavesdropping. My dog in my hands whimpered and I covered his mouth hoping that they didn't hear.
" I had to! I didn't want this life for her! I wanted her to be normal!" Were they talking about me? No that's impossible. What was my dad keeping from me. Why can't I know? I bit my lip and silenced my thoughts, listening further to their conversation.
"But you had no right to interfere with her life and her mate! She's mine." He growled. Tingles went throughout my body and I shivered. What does he mean I'm his and what's a mate?
"I know," My dad sounded defeated and he sighed. " I couldn't just hand her over to you! She's my daughter!"
"She's an omegas daughter! Don't you think I would want a mate of higher status? She's my mate and I have to love her regardless! Don't you think she should've had a choice in this? Instead of being tricked."
"There's more to it than just that." My dad's voice cracked. Then there was silence. My mind told me to move, but my feet stayed planted to the ground. The door swung open, and there he was. I gulped, I was shaking with fear. His eyes were black and his canines were fully grown. His breathing was erratic.
"Mine." He growled staring down at me and I ran.

You know I'm bad at keeping secrets." "NO! Come on please. I don't want to lose my position. (or my life) You wouldn't do that to me would you Lil?" I got him. As soon as I heard my name slip his lips I knew I'd won. "Tit for tat Alt. I keep your secret you keep mine. Now, I AM going for a run." Dalton rolls his eyes and reclaims his position at my door.
