Kurt Williams has spent the last twenty years as a Libertarian refugee from a collapsing society. On his return to civilization, what he finds is nothing short of devastating. In an America where big government has run amok and nearly everything is outlawed, will his defiance and courage be enough to restore sanity? This is a short story, in the dystopian / political genre. Readers will be left wondering if it was meant to be satire, or if it’s really not that far-fetched after all. Winner of an Honorable Mention in the Short Story category, 2013 San Antonio Writer’s Guild Annual Contest. “…fun, quirky, unique, and a quick read.” -Adam, Amazon reviewer

Before anyone in the dystopian city of Silver Dome gained any flicker of hope for life beyond sixteen and seventeen years old, the city was teeming with death. A boy on the verge of death finds himself Chosen at a rare ceremony that happens to come around his generation and is granted unspeakable strength, stamina, leadership, brutality, and immortality.
