Samuel left the magical world when he was a child, refusing to return to tyrannical Church that leads his fellow harrolds. Naomi has lead the magical world since she was a child, a matriarchal leader for dragons, a race run by family hierarchies. Their paths never should have crossed, and when they do, it's immediately too late. How can a bond be formed when their lives are at odds?

*Samuel Vera*
"It's this woman," I said, shocking both Ben and Bale. "She's-" I laughed to myself, relaxing as I spoke about her. "-She's actually always so mad at me, and she's fucking terrifying but she's also so distracting." My tone lowered down to a groan as I finish, "I didn't even have a meeting today, they canceled it, I just couldn't focus grading these multiplication tables."
"Has a mere mortal managed to catch the eye of the great and powerful Samuel Vera?" Ben teased, sounding awed and offended, an act as he once more made me regret telling him who I was. Next time, don't tell friends you're a magical being, got it...
"Shut up, Ben," Bale said, though he was grinning at the tease nonetheless. "Sam is never going to bring girls over if you're so... 'Funny'."
"I beg to differ," Ben said. "My teasing creates an air of informality that comforts many people. You, for example, have always been drawn to my open and honest personality."
"Always is a bit of a stretch-"
"-And, you know what? She would probably actually punch me," I said. I hadn't stopped talking about Naomi, going through our five minutes of history as Ben and Bale bickered as couples do. "Even if she knew, I don't think she'd care, most women, they're so..."
"Non-violent?" Bale said, sounding as if he were worried for my sanity, "Unlikely to attack you?"
"Now now Bale," Ben said. "Sam likes a bit of action in his life, he's a wild child."

Trigger Warnings: N/A- If you find something I have overlooked (which may happen, I've read this book a million times) please let me know and I will update!
He pulled me from the waist towards him. I landed on his chest. My boobs were nearly touching his hard chest.
"So tell me why do you wear these short shorts?"
"I wore my parent's choice. And they didn't nag me to wear something like this. They are fine with my dressing that's what matters." I said in a rude tone.
"Hmm... maybe 'cause They aren't aware of how people drool over your legs..." He said making me understand.
"FYI no one notices me. You himself always call me clumsy and childish. I don't think I am someone whom anyone will notice or drool."
"Your natural smell is so good. And you have many misunderstandings regarding yourself. Many people will get jealous of your boyfriend."
His hands protect my waist in a good grip. I put my hand on his chest to maintain some distance.
But unfortunately, I failed.
"I don't have a boyfriend," I told him, my phone started to vibrate as it was silent.
I got a text message. It was from my parents.
I read the text and saw Samuel in a fury. "When I said no phone during office hours that means no phone during office hours. Understand." He squeezed my waist. It was not that tight, but I could feel his anger.
"Samuel... Leave me." I responded struggling in his arms. He wasn't in the mood to let me go. He tightened his grip.
"Sir, there is an important meeting..." Andrew barged in.
"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE."
He instantly went outside. I was very embarrassed. He must have noticed our positions.
"So... You were saying something." He said very calmly.
"Yes, I said leave me."
"On one condition."
I nodded.
"Take my name."
"Hnn..." I said not understanding him clearly.
"Come on, say my name."
"Samuel sir," I said.
"Ahh... only my name damn it."
"Samuel Vincent," I said.
"Ahh...only my first name." He uttered in frustration.
"Samuel," I said and he gave me a million-dollar smile.
