When entomology lab partners Mari and Dylan accidentally spill some radioactive Praying Mantis DNA during a late night study session, Dylan is endowed with super-human powers. One misunderstanding and armed robbery later, Dylan is hailed a hero, and Mari finds herself wishing that she were the one with the bug blood. She tries her best to help hot-headed Dylan, but after a tragic accident, Mari finds herself questioning whether or not she's really ready to play the hero.

Carlos 'Cooper' Jimenez is a goofball journalism major, hoping to one day tell the story that will span national headlines. He also happens to be Dylan's former roommate.

But when a mysterious character known only as 'Daddy Long Legs' starts to cause havoc in Cida, Cooper and Mari find that, maybe, common people can save the world.
