(Trigger warning)

Death
[deth]
Noun

1. The act of dying; The end of life; The total and permanent cessation of all vital functions of an organism.

Look it up. Death by any definition could be applied to Ember Wes on December 15th 2006. Her heart couldn't beat. Her brain couldn't think. Her lungs couldn't take in oxygen. Her body couldn't move. Dead. Despite all of this, on May 21st 2017, Ember's feet walked through Earths rich soil. Her hair flew in the wind. And the sweet air filled her lungs. Scientists had been secretly researching how to bring the dead to life. To most, it was a miracle. But to some, it was wrong. They believe dead should stay in Irkalla. And they are willing to do anything to make it so.

Death Is My BFFLAD (Book Two Original Series) by katrocks247
24 parts Complete
(Bfflad- Best friends for life and death) Dear Reader, Let's start at the beginning shall we? I died. Oh no, not one of these stories again where someone angelic and heroic saves the damsel in distress. If only I was that lucky. My heart stopped beating. My lungs stopped working, my soul began to lift away... And then I was saved by a beautiful man with a kind heart and sparkles sprinkled around his head in a golden halo. A cunning, dazzling smile etched his angled features and his hair lay perfectly on his head like...black, sinful layers of pure cynical distrusting evil. Evil that was just waiting to onset a innocent girl as myself and allow her a short amount of time of happiness, and then finish her off when she became older. I'll give you a hint. The beginning of that description was slightly exaggerated. The Angel of Death. One of the only creatures known that was capable of settling the boundaries of heaven on earth. The only creature capable of making one of the Devil's darkest deals to my loving mother; a second chance for her daughter. This comes with consequences of course. Everything you know about Death is wrong. Death is not natural, Death is not normal, Death is not doleful, and Death is far from mercenary. Death blends into the shadows like coal against the most atramentous sky. Death walks the earth with his cursed, monstrous and exotic features, his enticing voice and betraying alluring eyes. Death deceives, scratches, and plays with your mind, until you slowly and painfully loose your grip on reality. He'll make you believe he's a different person, that there's a sliver hope for him. Hope for you. Death is close. The Misvan Gatu: Intentions by LeahMichaels
20 parts Complete
Humanity have always questioned their mortality. The world; riddled with disease and crime, each day gifted with a sense of dread. "I'm getting older." Humans have evolved, fought wars, overcome the impossible and survived as a species, until now. Now that they question death and what comes after. Among the humans are a group of people, hiding in plain sight. Those that inexplicably are able to connect with their souls on an entirely different level to most. They have no name, hidden purely by disbelief, in a society that doubts those that are different. How do you name something that you refuse to acknowledge exists? The Misvan Gatu is an underground government controlled by an unknown force. It is their mission to find a cure for the death of a soul, not caring who they may destroy in the process. Misguided and twisted by an evil unknown they are driven by the need to know more about the afterlife. Breaking down barriers and finding answers to questions best left unasked. If the soul could be transferred then that human life could continue, couldn't it? And if there was a way of stopping death and harnessing the power of the human soul what else could we accomplish? This is where faith and science began to work together. Already you must understand that the two are not compatible? Book one in a trilogy of short novellas. 1 part Complete Mature

All it took was a single slip of a blade. Cool metal warming as it pierces cloth and skin and bone and organ. The body of a teen going limp on the hilt of a god's sword. Below them, the grass stained golden. Far above them, a single string was cut, and farther above still, a star, gleaming and bright, went out. - A teenager is killed in battle. Their family is left to pick up the pieces. Or; a study of grief, loss, and how a ragtag family of gods, angels, demons and mortals tries to cope. (a one shot of a bigger story)
