  It seemed like yesterday when Marcus had came out to his family. It was quick and fast, almost like pulling off a bandaid. His father had bursted into a laughing fit and his mother sighed. 

I gave Mom an uneasy look and she grimaced.

"We might have placed a bet." Mom said handing my dad a one hundred dollar bill. Dad wiped tears from his eyes and hugged me. I smiled. 
 
 Now I stood in the middle of people waving flags, takin pictures, and handing out buttons.
