Highest: #316 You probably are a pretty big fan of books. It's probably why you're reading this right now. But, unlike Wesley Withers, you probably don't owe your entire life's purpose to a single page. Eastbrook was a pretty popular spot for reading-lovers to gather; along with having books for purchase, the library section was open for anyone from 10 to 100 to sit down and scour through any dusty pages of their choosing. But one day, Wesley finds a book that he struggles to believe he's never noticed before; it contains gorgeous illustrations and cursive handwriting which he can barely make out. However, Wesley is somewhat disappointed when the words written do not present him with a story, but instead, with a manual. The book contains instructions for summoning an item known as the Kalamos, a pen that allows the user to create any item or effect imaginable by the power of the ink contained within. Wesley jokingly follows these instructions, but when their benefits are realized, he very seriously considers the consequences. And the awesome food. He would never consider becoming a superhero. Sure, his heart's in the right place, but he would never have the will-power to develop any physical strength that would be deemed acceptable to fight crime. But when his friends offer to help him fight villainy using his newfound powers without physical contact, he leaps at the chance to finally be able to help other people for once in his life. But he's just a kid, he'll be able to keep it pretty small-scale... right? Cadmus will hopefully be updated weekly, with one chapter per week! This is my first book so it's probably not great... but I hope you enjoy nonetheless!
