Nico di Angelo is having a happy holiday with his three sisters and their spouses and kids. He often isn't happy, so having a good time with family is a rare pleasure. But his sister Reyna is concerned about Nico's love life and why he's never had a girlfriend, and takes him out to meet people. But something terrible happens, and he is left hurt and confused, physically and emotionally. He ends up having to deal with something that will get in his way for the rest of his life. In the journey of trying to take care of Nico's new obstacle, he meets someone who is the love of his life and can also help him, Will Solace. With the help of Will, Nico has a breakthrough and starts to live as normally as he had before. Only one aspect of his life is changed, his love life.

With Nico di Angelo as Will Solace's prisoner for three days in the infirmary, Nico has to quickly adjust to all the attention he gets from Will, along with the rest of the camp. Nico has to deal with other people's problems, especially when he doesn't want to. He has to quickly learn how to build relationships with other campers from the ground up, and even though Nico is banned from using his 'Underworldy' powers, he's still a demigod, and danger and adventure are always at his heels, even at camp!
