After a mission to defend Earth from entreating Galra forces goes awry, Lance and Keith are stranded on the Moon. It takes around 28 Earth days for the Moon to fully rotate once, and the 14 days of night are fast approaching. With both paladins growing steadily worse for wear, they can't help but wonder if they'll ever see the sun again.

Princess Allura, Alfor's royal adviser Coran, and the Altean Castle of Lions were hidden on planet Arus along with the Black Lion. In the present, the Galra Empire's path of conquest and search for Voltron has led them to Earth's solar system. A group of space pilots-Shiro, Keith, Lana, Pidge, and Hunk-discover the Blue Lion and immediately get swept up into the Galran War.
