Los adultos son seres racionales, con objetivos claros, relaciones maduras y control sobre sí mismos. Claro está, que lo anterior solamente pasa en la teoría de la mayoría de psicólogos, porque en la práctica; la vida adulta es como una ola gigante que debes montar antes de que te arrastre a la costa, también se puede ver como un puñetazo en el estómago después de comer un dulce pastel de chocolate. 

Cualquier analogía puede resultar útil para embarcarse en la historia de Hannah y Phillip: dos confundidos, indecisos y recientemente independientes "cuasi adultos", cuyas historias cruzadas cuentan con ironía y sarcasmo cómo reciben ese puñetazo llamado ser adulto.
