[PREVIOUSLY DAIGHTE]

The Kingdom of Daighte has always been a peaceful world where the Zardonov Royal Family have ruled for over 300 years.

Now they are as powerful as ever and the one person who knows that the most is King Brokova.

Brokova has become ruthless with his power, sending anyone who steps out of line straight to the island jail of Anceps, a place so deadly that only a sorcerer will help you fend off the demons and goblins.

The King has a grand-daughter, Anya Zardonov. She is second-in-line to the throne and had been training her whole life for the role but when she stands against her grandfather he does something that changes the lives of the whole Kingdom.

On her journey to find her real self, Anya finds a mysterious and lost-looking Dimitri Kanatova whose father, Nikolai is the only known human to ever go against a fairy and win.

He escapes from Anceps with only a scratch, but when he meets Anya his whole plan makes him question everything he has ever believed in.

WATTYS SHORT LIST! When sixteen-year-old Sasha Nikolayeva opens her eyes on a horrifying tableau of dead and dying bodies, she can only hope to wake up. But the nightmare, if that's what it is, doesn't end. Instead, Sasha finds herself rendered mute and enslaved by a society which doesn't recognize her as a human being. To the citizens of Kingsgarden, "thralls" like Sasha are automatons brought into being by mages, incapable of speech or independent thought. Hidden behind a carefully crafted mask of soulless neutrality, Sasha silently endures starvation, degradation, and physical abuse at the hands of her captors as she watches and waits for an opportunity to escape into the glittering, majestic capital city of Kingsgarden. Despite visions of her old life which strongly suggest that she is suffering from some sickness of the mind--a neurological disorder, or perhaps simple insanity--Sasha is determined to take matters into her own hands and find her way home, whether she is imprisoned truly in a foreign land or only in her own mind. But as time goes by, Sasha finds herself drawn to the beauty and vitality of the City...and to the handsome Beastspeaker who only wants to give her his heart. Sasha knows she has no choice but to leave it all behind in order to go home, but she can't help but begin to wonder if "home" is where she thought it was and if the line between reality and madness is as fixed as it seems. This is a very early version of my novel "A Garden of Light and Shadows" which is currently under agent consideration. Cross your fingers for me!

[Wattys2018 Shortlist] [Bootcamp Mentorship Mentee 2020] [Insidious Awards - 1st place/Action/Adventure] "Squinty, I... Help me! Please! You have to help me!" Squinty huffed at him as the horse might snort at an annoying fly it couldn't get rid of. "A...a... an apple," he stammered. "I just... stole an apple!" ---- When water is controlled by those in power, even a mere apple can be a catalyst. For Squinty, it was the start of everything. Finding Grizzly. Losing Roko. Becoming a Vigil. Discovering she had the power to become invisible. For Nalina, the threat of a new Water War was even closer to home; her beloved brother was the one initiating it. To Drian, water formed the core of his belief system, defined who was - and was not - worthy, and justified the treatment of the underground-dwelling Wellers. An orphan girl, determined to do what was right. A princess, petitioning for peace. An abbot, torn between his religion, and his experience. Each with an Etching, a unique power that surely makes them special; a tie to something more, something extra, something beyond the Squareworld. Written in 2014 the storyline involves an almost crystal ball view of Putin's growing aggression towards Ukraine. Mikhailya Groschev was born in the year 1952 in the Soviet Union controlled Ukraine. Her father is an Astrophysicist and a Cosmonaut, her Mother a successful doctor. Their family along with four other families is selected to participate in colonizing Mars at the time when America thinks it is winning the Space Race. A new Element is discovered on Mars that turns the mission and Mikhailya's life upside down. The mission fails as the Mars colony is rapidly falling apart, an immediate evacuation is ordered and lives turn upside down. Mikhailya's parents are cold-bloodily murdered and chaos ensues. Once the crew makes their return journey to Earth the next adventure begins. New characters are introduced and a chase across Europe from the Ukraine to Paris gets underway, the out of place Soviet teens must develop new allies while being weary of potential enemies. Due to the stabilizing properties of the limited amount of the new element they bring back to Earth, it becomes a highly sought after prize. There is espionage (NSA, KGB), kidnapping and a little romance too. Determined to keep what remains of her family whole, Mikhailya finds herself tackling adversity and overcoming odds that seem nearly insurmountable, just when she thinks they are getting ahead they fall back and need to regroup. The team gets separated and each group has their own hurdles to face as they adjust to the news of the USSR crumbling and nowhere to turn. Brother is pitted against brother, father against son and Mikhailya's family is caught in the middle. Mikhailya's life is forever changed on her final mission to reunite her family.

Prince Gavrila is, to put it lightly, rather unhappy about having been dragged home from the war. However he is tasked with the petty tradition every king must honour; choosing his bride. Whilst there are six months avaliable with which to get to know his ten possible fiancees, Gavrila is determined spend as little time as possible away from the front lines, eager to return to the fight and win the war. Yet it seems the front lines may be harder and harder to return to, with the threat of rebellion and a much bigger fight call him to his father's side, whilst a girl who barely deserves a place in his season is tugging at the strings of his heart. For a cover like mine, please go talk to @subconscious_bitch. She made this one and that of the sequel with incredible accuracy and real professionalism. She seems like a really nice human as well :)
