The Cure. Supposedly the answer to everyone's problems, The Cure is the cure for every illness known to man. Injected into unborn infants, its sole purpose was to make a New Generation of seemingly immune humans. However, there's just one problem. Not only does it cure humans, it mutates them as well manifesting itself when the child reaches seventeen. James Greyson is part of this generation. Cured when he was an infant, James is helpless to wait until the change is upon him. Living with a best friend/guardian after his mother died and having no father to turn in these tough times is not easy nor fun, and going through highschool and knowing that the people will start to disappear isn't either. When a group of rebel teenagers threaten his life one night, just days before the change, James is forced into a Safe House. A haven for Cured teens like him. But when the world behind the walls of the Safe House turns mad, who can he trust? And if thats not bad enough as it is, a girl adds herself to the confusion. Layla is pretty and smart and someone James just can't keep up with and when the two are stationed in the same Safe House, they find that love can blossom even in the most unlikely time and place. No one told James that being seventeen would be so hard.

I had to admit, he was cute. His eyes sparkled nervously and his lips were a lovely shade of natural red. He had his arms crossed over his chest, a gesture that could possibly get him knocked out in this place. He looked as though he could fake a tough guy but at heart he was gentle. I had good instincts and they were screaming to steer clear of this guy. Why? Because he would break my heart. Why is that all the best relationships happen at the strangest of times? Laurel meets Trey inside of a Juvenile Detention Centre and the two of them become closer than anything. For Laurel, Trey was the first friend in her life. But for Trey, he intended for Laurel to be his last. Trey is heartbroken when Laurel leaves the Centre and moves away from town, never to see him again. Laurel has runaway from her foster parents, changed her name and even the colour of her hair. She's created a whole new persona for herself and never wants to revisit the past, but what happens when the most unlikely thing happens? What happens when Trey moves in just around the corner?
